The Benefits Of Lemons! A Glowing Secret!
Updated: Jul 5
Happy Monday Glow-getters! As we jump-start our week, here’s a tip that I wanted to share with you! The benefits of lemons! A glowing secret!
Ok, while it’s actually not a secret but an obvious one and often overlooked because we are always on the hunt for something new or original. But this is something I started appreciating during these crazy COVID-19 lockdown times, it’s really the little things that count that are often so overlooked. And I started telling myself, “Take care with self-care.” Because if I don’t take after myself, no one else really will.
However, there are some things in life, when it is just that good, leave it as is. Lemon in water is not only meant for flavoring, while that is an added bonus, but if you have been on a hunt for the glowing skin secret, look no further than a grocery store nearest you. Freshly squeezed lemon in warm/room temperature water throughout the day will emit healthier glowing skin. A good practice to pick up as part of your daily routine.
The benefits are:
Detoxifying
Cleansing
Raises pH
Hydrating
Vitamin C
Clears Skin
It is recommended that you drink it in the morning, preferably first thing. Warm water is best (not too hot and not cold) to assimilate to the temperature of your body. But don’t be too crazy on yourself, just drinking it in the morning is good enough, while some try to drink it throughout the day, it’s not completely necessary. Once you start drinking warm water with lemon, you’ll really feel a cleansing energy within your body.
We often hear that, glowing starts from within.
Drinking warm water with lemon is one of the best ways to alkalize your body, cleanse, detoxify, hydrate, and get in a good dose of vitamin C.
Bonus tip: Whenever you go to a restaurant, you can always ask the waiter for some ‘warm water with lemon,’ and then again at the end of the meal to round things out. It helps with digestion, plus – it is something that most restaurants have on hand.
And if you haven’t already noticed my whole vibe and moodboards consist of lemons it’s from my appreciation of the lemons during these quarantine moments. But please do NOT put lemons directly onto your face. Get your Vitamin C in other concentrated forms of serums if you want to apply it onto your skin. Lemon juice is very high in acidity and can cause damage to your skin, as it is a citric acid, lemon juice can also alter the natural pH level in your skin, potentially causing skin irritation and sensitivity to the sun. So just remember; for consumption is great, applying directly onto your skin is bad.
